 MissionThe
mission of the Institute of Educational Studies is to influence the
formation of qualities of the knowledge and information society and
modernisation of education in Lithuania by developing the educational
competence of the society, its members, and institutions.
In
order to facilitate the accession of Lithuania into the EU and the
competitiveness of the country on the global level, the Institute of
Educational Studies seeks to develop the qualities of the knowledge and
learning society by the means of creating new knowledge of educational
science, accumulating progressive educational experience, disseminating
them in the society, and thereby influencing:
- modernization of the educational system of Lithuania;
- development of learning regions;
- development of schools and other non-profit as well as business organizations into learning organizations;
- development of life-long learning competencies in all members of society (children, adults, and their teachers).
