Undergraduate Program - Bachelor’s Study Program: Social education

The program aims at preparing specialists for educational practice with a variety of age-groups, in need for qualified social educational assistance, on target. The specialists are to help individuals overcome the difficulties of social adaptation which occur under the transition into market economy. Social educators are to work in state institutions and non-governmental organizations, be involved in counselling and social care institutions, labour exchange, educational institutions, personnel departments of enterprises, etc. Having completed the study program, the graduates will be able to:
  • identify the individual’s social and educational problems and their causes;
  • help people solve their social and educational problems and prevent from their occurrence;
  • promote re-socialization of the underprivileged;
  • assist in planning person’s life-long learning process;
  • help solve social and educational conflicts in the community, mediate between a person or the family on the one hand, and state or social institutions on the other.


Graduate Program - Master’s Study Program: Educational science

The study program has been developed to facilitate going deeper into educational science for acquiring the qualification enabling to work efficiently in educational management, to perform one’s pedagogical and research activities in the selected field of research and to practice or to continue studies in doctoral studies program.
Admission requirements: the persons, who graduated from various science fields of bachelor’s studies or possess a diploma of higher education, have good skills in a foreign language and the computer can be admitted into the program. Teachers and secondary school principles are very welcome.

Specialization: Educational managment

This specialization field is for the professionals willing to efficiently work in the sphere of educational management, and particularly for those seeking active participation in the reform of Lithuanian system of education.

Specialization: Professional (business) teaching

The field involves people who work as teachers of profession in the system of professional education/ vocational training at the secondary level. This specialization of professional (business) teaching can be chosen by individuals, with a bachelor’s degree in the field of a subject which is going to be taught or has already been taught.

Specialization: Higher education

This field is meant for the persons who perform or intend to perform pedagogical and administrative work in the system of higher education.

Specialization: Social education

This specialization involves professionals who would like to go deeper into social work with persons experiencing difficulties adapting in the society, especially children, teenagers, and their families, as well as the ones who seek to perform social work in different organizations, related to the stimulation of people’s positive activity, directing them to self-development, carrier planning and education.

Specialization: Educational technologies

This specialization involves teachers and other specialists willing to acquire deeper knowledge in modern educational technologies and systems, which is necessary for teachers at schools, universities, instructors at continuing education and training centers as well as for organizers of distance teaching.


Professional Training Program

Teachers of computer science, mathematics, physics, business and vocational training instructed according to the formula 4+1 (four years of the bachelor’s studies in the subject field and one year – of pedagogical education) for the secondary and vocational schools in Lithuania. Students complete four-week practice (the period is going to be prolonged).
University graduates with pedagogical experience, but no special pedagogical education are enrolled to one-year program of pedagogical studies.
In 1999 a program of teacher training by means of distance teaching was introduced. The institute has 50 students in Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys and Kaunas district.
